A bit more about me

I have 15 years of experience fundraising for a wide variety of causes - spanning education, environment, homelessness, children and young people, animals and the arts.

I have developed and implemented strategies for fundraising from trusts, corporate partnerships, individual giving and legacies.

I have secured more than £8 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for multiple transformative projects, and led a successful £2.9 million capital appeal. For the past 7 years I have held Head of department roles, empowering teams to do the best fundraising we can do whilst also creating a collaborative and supportive working environment where everyone feels truly valued.

I bring this same spirit of supportive partnership to my consultancy work today.

Outside of work, I can be found out in nature, bellringing, listening to Eurovision playlists, and befriending cats (if a cat will allow me to, I will befriend it).

I also look after Socks the fox, otherwise known as the face that inspired a thousand LinkedIn posts and, even, a logo for my consultancy. She's six years old and visits us every day.

I'm based in West Sussex and work with charities all over the UK.

Watch this space for some case studies of my work with brilliant charities!

My values

Since starting out with my freelance and consultancy work, I've been thinking about how I want to show up for my clients.
I aim to embody the following core values in all of my work.

Courage

I think all fundraising requires courage – to test, to make decisions, to invite others to support our work. Courage to tell your charity’s real story and the stories of the people or places you exist for. I hope to approach my work with courage too.

Creativity

I love the creativity of fundraising, whether this is working with you to solve a problem, to find your 'why', or helping develop a project.

“Because when you are imagining, you might as well imagine something worth while.” (L M Montgomery)

Care

I care about the changes we are seeking to make in this sector. And I love working with others who care about their communities and their spaces. I take care with the work that I do and I include in this being kind, and bringing an awareness of my privilege.

Honesty

They don't all begin with C! The systems we operate in are imperfect, and I aim to help you navigate them with honesty, openness and optimism. On a practical level, I will be honest if I don’t think I’m the right person to work with you, or if I think we aren't submitting the best bid we could be.

Say hello

I love connecting with brilliant organisations - please contact me if you would like to work together.
